Is on its way towards eating Belize. Which just might put a hitch in those honeymoon plans.
One of our wedding guests had been watching the news and called to brilliantly recommend travel insurance ASAP, and we found a plan that would take us. (We squeaked in just before the 24-hour cutoff, thanks to my mom's recently-acquired travel-agent status, a lot of fine-print speed-reading, a wifi signal at the Hyatt's top-floor restaurant, nine extremely patient lunch companions, and several out-of-town friends kind enough to forgive our canceling plans with them so we could get online and do some frantic research before the deadline.)
The wedding was beyond fabulous. Friends and family came from all over North America, and beyond. We've been plenty ready for the honeymoon, though. Oops.
All we can do now is watch the weather reports and try to find backup plans. TACA still has some decent fares to warm and lovely places outside the storm belt, so something could pop.
