...and how much would I tip the driver?

Just got home from day three at my new job. I started last Thursday, two days after Liz and I returned from our latest jaunt.

I called her as I was walking back from the streetcar -- she has an ambitious evening planned that's filled with laundry, gym and work -- so she asked me to order Indian takeout before we get started.

At home, I searched the apartment thoroughly for the proper menu, opening drawers and looking under couch cushions. A corner of a yellow flyer beneath a shoe caught my eye:

  • Beef Madras
  • Beef Jhalfrazi
  • Beef Palak

Starting from the back page, I compile a menu that is acceptable to our collective palate before turning to the front page to find the phone number.

Only to discover that it was a takeout menu for Palace of India restaurant. A nice place, to be sure, but we're a bit outside their delivery area.

They're located in Auckland, New Zealand.

I must learn to sort things properly once they're unpacked. And now, off to find a nice Chicken Tikka in the proper hemisphere. More soon, mostly photos.
